Luke 24:39
"Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have."

Problem:
Moslems assert that resurrected bodies are not solid. On the basis of this assertion and the words of Jesus in this verse which show that he did have a solid physical body at this point, Moslems argue that Jesus could not have been raised from the dead and hence that he was merely resuscitated.

Solution:
  1. There is no reason to suppose that resurrected bodies are not solid. On the contrary, several verses tell us that they will be completely solid. These include:
    1. Job 19:25-26 - "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:"
    2. Romans 8:11 - "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
    3. John 2:18-21 - "Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body."
    4. Acts 2:31 - "He [David] seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption."

  2. It is the fact of Jesus' solidity that shows he was really raised. His solid body went into the tomb dead, and that body was raised to eternal life. This was no vision of a spirit.

  3. Moslems argue that those who are raised have intangible bodies because they are like angels (Luke 20:34-36). There are two errors here. First, Luke 20 only compares the raised to angels in a moral sense, and, second, there is no reason to suppose that angels have intangible bodies. The angels who came to Abraham were solid enough to eat (Gen. 18:8) and so were the angels that came to Sodom (Gen. 19:3).
